Kate Cleary

Assistant Professor at SUNY Potsdam

Kate Cleary has a diverse work experience in various educational institutions and research organizations. Kate is currently working as an Assistant Professor at SUNY Potsdam since 2019. Prior to this, they served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at St. Lawrence University from 2018 to 2019. Kate also worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Clarkson University from 2016 to 2019. Kate has experience as a University Lecturer at SUNY Potsdam from 2017 to 2018. Kate started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Idaho in 2010, where they worked until 2016. Additionally, Kate worked as a Biological Consultant at Normandeau Associates, Inc. in 2013. Kate gained research experience as a Research Assistant in the Education and Outreach Program of the National Park Service from 2009 to 2010. Kate also dedicated two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 2007 to 2009. Furthermore, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Colorado State University in 2006 and as a Biological Research Technician at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in 2005.

Kate Cleary has a strong educational background with a PhD in Conservation Genetics from the University of Idaho, which they completed between 2010 and 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from Colorado State University, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Kate'sundergraduate studies were completed at the University of Richmond from 1998 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology and English.
