Elyse Purcell

Elyse Purcell, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and Department Chair at SUNY Oneonta since June 2016, where responsibilities include overseeing the Department of Philosophy and providing education and assessment for students. In addition, as Secretary-Treasurer of the American Philosophical Association's Central Division since January 2017, Elyse manages fiscal growth and member recruitment while coordinating annual conference programs. Previous experience includes roles as a Client Trainer at JMFA, Director of Marketing and Communications at NAPA CASCo, and Lecturer at SUNY Cortland and Le Moyne College. Academic credentials include a PhD and MA in Philosophy from Boston College, along with BA degrees in Drama from The University of Dallas.
