Briony McCarthy

Briony McCarthy has accumulated extensive work experience in the media and advertising industry. Briony is currently serving as the CEO and Founding Partner of SuperBloom House since May 2021. Before that, they were the President of Hecho Studios from January 2019 to April 2020, where they led the transformation of the studio into a modern content and media company. Their responsibilities included overseeing growth strategies, managing client relationships, and serving as a media advisor to brands.

Prior to their role at Hecho Studios, Briony held various positions at PHD, starting as a Strategy Director from October 2008 to May 2011, where they led media and communications planning for Hyatt Hotels and Kayak.com. Briony later became the Vice President and Group Account Director from January 2011 to March 2014, and then the President from April 2014 to December 2018. As President, they led a team of over 400 media professionals, fostered a culture of collaboration, and contributed to significant new business and organic growth for the company.

Before joining PHD, Briony was the Director of Planning & Development at Reindeer, a start-up agency, from August 2007 to August 2008. Briony partnered with brands like PepsiCo to create innovative social and digital ideas.

Briony also gained valuable experience as the National Client Content Director at NOVA Entertainment from 2001 to 2007, where they launched a groundbreaking format, achieved record-breaking results for clients, and led a team of 45 salespeople.

Briony began their career as a Media Planning Manager at ZenithOptimedia from 1999 to 2001, leading negotiations for Sydney 2000 Olympics. Briony also worked as a Senior Media Planner at DDB in 1999 and as a Media Planner at George Patterson Y&R from 1996 to 1999.

Briony McCarthy pursued their higher education at RMIT University from 1994 to 1999. During this time, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Business & Communications with a specialization in Marketing. After a substantial gap, Briony resumed their educational journey in 2016 at Omnicom University. Here, they enrolled in the Advanced Management Program and focused on the field of Business/Commerce, General.
