Franz Király

Franz Király has extensive work experience in the field of data science and statistics. Franz currently serves as the Chief Data Scientist at SuperDuperDB since June 2023. Previously, Franz held various roles at UCL, including Honorary Lecturer from January 2020 to present, and Lecturer of Statistics (Tenured Assistant Professor equivalent) from August 2013 to January 2020. Franz also worked as a sktime Core Developer at sktime from June 2018 onwards. Franz was a Principal Data Scientist & Practice Lead gfknewron Predict at GfK from August 2022 to April 2023.

In their previous roles, Franz worked at Shell as a Principal Science Expert from May 2021 to July 2022, and as a Principal Data Scientist from January 2020 to July 2022. Franz was also a Turing Fellow at The Alan Turing Institute from July 2016 to January 2020. Prior to that, Franz served as an Oberwolfach Fellow at Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach from August 2012 to August 2014. Franz started their career as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (Postdoctoral Fellow equivalent) at Berlin Institute of Technology from January 2010 to August 2013, and as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (Doctoral Fellow equivalent) at Ulm University from January 2007 to December 2009.
