João M.

João M. has a diverse work experience in the fields of blockchain development, engineering, and business analysis. João has held positions at various companies, including Superform, Mothora, Spectral Finance, Astral, Gitcoin, INESC Technology and Science, Nordea, and Kaizen Institute Western Europe.

At Superform, João is currently working as the Head of Protocol Engineering since 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Solidity Engineer and Advisor at Mothora from March 2022 to January 2023. João led a team of engineers and was responsible for designing and developing smart contracts for a web3 game, winning prizes at hackathons.

In their previous role as a Senior Solidity Engineer, João contributed to the development of two products related to EVM networks. João was responsible for solution architecture, creation of protocols, and integration with frontend apps. This role lasted from March 2022 to January 2023.

Before that, at Spectral Finance, João worked as a Senior Solidity Engineer from March 2021 to March 2022. João played a key role in designing and developing Spectral's Lending Pool, involving the creation of credit score tranching mechanism and coordination of the Smart Contracts team.

João also has experience as a Solidity Engineer at Astral, where they were responsible for frontend and smart contract development, solution architecture, and protocol advocacy. This role lasted from November 2020 to December 2021.

Additionally, João has participated in fellowship programs at Gitcoin, including KERNEL 2 Fellow from January to March 2021 and APOLLO Fellow from September to October 2020. João was also part of the first KERNEL cohort and co-led the creation of astralDAO.

Before entering the blockchain industry, João worked as a Blockchain Developer at INESC Technology and Science, where they led the development of dApps tailored for enhancing buyer-seller relationships, decentralized energy exchange, and more. This role lasted from November 2018 to August 2020.

Prior to their blockchain career, João gained experience as a Business Analyst at Nordea, where they contributed to transformation projects and facilitated improvement workshops. João worked in this role from March 2017 to July 2018.

At the beginning of their career, João worked as a Consultant at Kaizen Institute Western Europe, where they applied continuous improvement methodologies in client companies, facilitated workshops, and analyzed production processes. This role lasted from January 2016 to July 2016.

João M. completed a postgraduate degree in Business Intelligence & Analytics from Porto Business School in the years 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto from 2011 to 2016. During their master's program, João also participated in the ERASMUS+ program at Linköping University for the academic year 2014 to 2015. Additionally, they hold a certification in Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) from Cambridge English Language Assessment.
