Phil Southerland

CEO & Founder at Supersapiens

Phil Southerland has had a varied and successful career in the healthcare industry. In 2019, they became the CEO and Founder of Supersapiens, a company built for athletes by athletes with a combined 30+ years of experience at the toughest level of sports. In 2012, they co-founded Team Novo Nordisk, the world's first all-diabetic professional cycling team, and from 2004 to 2011 they were the Volunteer President and Founder of Team Type 1, a foundation dedicated to supporting life for people with diabetes. In addition, they have held managerial roles at Diabetes and was the Director of Health Care Planning, Policy, and Patient Advocacy at the World Health Organization from 2011-2012. In 2013, they also authored the book Not Dead Yet: My Race Against Disease from Diagnosis to Dominance.

Phil Southerland attended The University of Georgia from 2000 to 2005.
