Michael "The Bookkeeper" Oberther has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Michael "The Bookkeeper" began their career at MetLife as a Senior Customer Service Representative, providing support to financial advisors and annuity customers. Michael "The Bookkeeper" then transitioned to UniFirst Corporation as a Field Sales Representative before joining Paychex as a Human Resource Sales Consultant, where they helped business owners and executives with human resources and payroll solutions.
Michael later became a Managing Partner at Client Cycle Marketing, where they virtually supported business owners across the country in developing lead generation processes. Michael "The Bookkeeper" increased company revenue by 300% during their time there.
Continuing their career in payroll and human resources, Michael worked as a Payroll & Human Resources Sales Account Executive at CheckWriters Payroll, where they opened the New York City territory and mentored the sales team.
In 2018, Michael co-founded two ventures: As Told by Makers, a monthly event that celebrates craft and creativity, and 20 People Networking, a curated speed networking event in NYC that focused on developing strong business relationships.
In 2019, Michael became a Founding Member of the Cannabis and Hemp Network Association in New York, and a Member and Board Member of the Professional Business Network Association. Michael "The Bookkeeper"'scurrent role is with Supporting Strategies as the Director of Business Development, where they lead the outsourced controller and bookkeeping services team.
Michael Oberther attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2009 to 2011, where they studied Accounting and Finance. Prior to that, they were also enrolled at the University of Southern Maine from 2001 to 2003, with a focus on the same field. In 2015, Michael obtained an Inbound Certification from HubSpot.
