Vijay Sardana is a distinguished advocate and IPR & techno-legal expert with extensive experience, currently serving as an advocate at the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Judicature at Delhi, and the National Green Tribunal since 2019. Additionally, Vijay holds the position of a member of the Commodity Derivatives Advisory Committee at SEBI and has been active as a techno-legal advisor at Shriram Institute For Industrial Research. With a rich history of independent directorship on various boards and participation in expert committees, Vijay also contributes as a member of the Academic Advisory Council at Delhi School of Business and serves as an advisor to the Food Security & Sustainable Agriculture Foundation and the Poultry Federation of India. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Vijay holds multiple advanced degrees, including a PhD in Circular Economy and Business Sustainability from O.P. The Supreme Court of India is the highest judicial forum and final court of appeal under the Constitution of India, the highest constitutional court, with the power of constitutional review. Consisting of the Chief Justice of India and 30 other judges, it has extensive powers in the form of original, appellate and advisory jurisdictions. As the final court of appeal of the country, it takes up appeals primarily against verdicts of the High Courts of various states of the Union and other courts and tribunals. It safeguards fundamental rights of citizens and settles disputes between various governments in the country. As an advisory court, it hears matters which may specifically be referred to it under the Constitution by the President of India. It also may take cognizance of matters on its own, without anyone drawing its attention to them. The law declared by the Supreme Court becomes binding on all courts within India.
