D. Hugh Murray

Deputy General Counsel & Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at Surefox

As Deputy General Counsel & Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer for Surefox North America, Hugh leads the development, implementation, management, and oversight of the Ethics and Compliance Department. He is responsible for ethics, investigations, compliance, corporate governance, and industry licensing matters. Hugh works in collaboration with each department on the development and execution of policies and procedures.

Prior to joining Surefox, Hugh served for ten years on Active Duty in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps as a principal legal advisor to senior military officers on government investigations, ethics, policy, regulatory, fiscal, international, operational, and national security matters in both domestic and deployed environments. He also has extensive criminal litigation experience, serving as a military prosecutor on a wide array of complex felony cases. Hugh continues his service to the country as a Reserve Judge Advocate.

Hugh is a member of the Texas, New York, Massachusetts, and Washington, D.C. Bars and is a Virginia Corporate Counsel licensed Bar member. Hugh is a founder and board member of The Jayna Troxel Murray Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, providing scholarships to qualified individuals.

Hugh received his Bachelor of Science from Sam Houston State University. He obtained his MBA from the University of Phoenix. Hugh holds a Juris Doctorate from the Appalachian School of Law where he also served as the Student Bar Association President. Hugh competed as a professional triathlete and continues to enjoy training and racing endurance events.
