Legal Counsel at Surescripts

Liu Chen has a diverse range of work experience in the legal field. They started their career as a Research Assistant in the Criminology Department, where they conducted case studies on criminal law issues. After that, they interned at the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida, where they conducted legal research and drafted memoranda on various civil liberties issues. Chen then worked as a Summer Intern at Poole Huffman, LLC, where they drafted and reviewed contracts and conducted due diligence reviews.

In 2015, Chen served as a Research Assistant at Emory University School of Law, managing and organizing the Transactional Law Negotiation Team. They were also a Summer Intern at Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta, assisting corporate attorneys on transactional matters for nonprofit organizations and researching legal issues.

In 2016, Chen worked as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Thomas V. Danheisser at the First Judicial Circuit of Florida. Following that, they joined Quintairos, Prieto, Wood, & Boyer, P.A. as an Associate Attorney. Chen then transitioned to The Pew Charitable Trusts as a Senior Associate, where they worked until 2020. Currently, Chen is employed as a Legal Counsel at Surescripts.

Liu Chen pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with their Bachelor's degree in Criminology and Chinese at the University of Florida from 2009 to 2013. Afterward, they attended Barry University - Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law from 2013 to 2014 as a Juris Doctor Candidate with a focus on Law. Finally, they completed their education at Emory University School of Law, where they obtained a Juris Doctor degree from 2014 to 2016.
