VP Data Governance And Controller at Surescripts

Steve Ritter's work experience begins in 2004 when they joined Ernst & Young as an Audit Manager. In this role, they managed annual audits and quarterly reviews for tech and government contracting companies, including multiple SEC filers. Steve also conducted internal control testing in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

In 2010, Ritter transitioned to DAI, where they held multiple roles. Steve started as an Assistant Controller, overseeing various accounting functions such as payroll, accounts payable, and international tax. Steve also handled accounting, valuation, and tax planning for a significant acquisition. Ritter later became the Director of Finance for DAI Mexico, where they led finance functions and implemented operational income reports. Steve prepared annual budgets and multi-year forecasts for the business unit. Ultimately, they served as the Corporate Controller, responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, billing, and IT.

Since 2017, Ritter has joined Surescripts, initially as the VP of Controller and later becoming the VP of Data Governance and Controller. In their current role, they oversee financial accounting functions while also building and leading a Data Governance organization. This includes developing policies, data quality measures, and operationalizing enterprise-wide data governance initiatives.

Steve Ritter attended James Madison University from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Their field of study was Accounting with a Concentration in Information Systems. After completing their undergraduate education, Steve obtained the Certified Public Accountant certification from the Virginia State Board in July 2006. Steve later obtained the CompTIA Network+ ce certification from CompTIA in November 2016.
