Steven Cocke

Steven Cocke has a diverse background in data science and related roles. Steven'smost recent experience includes working as a Lead Data Scientist at Walker Engineering Solutions, LLC since March 2023. Prior to that, they served as an AI/ML Bootcamp Mentor at SureStart, where they educated middle/high school and college students in applied machine learning.

Before that, Steven worked as a Forward Deployed Data Scientist/Engineer at Labelbox from May 2022 to March 2023. Steven also worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Parsons Corporation from November 2021 to May 2022. In this role, they led multiple data science projects and teams focused on implementing computer vision and natural language processing techniques, among others. Steven also played a role in adopting the AWS platform into the team's working environment, resulting in time-saving improvements in model development and deployment.

Steven's previous experience includes working as a Data Scientist at General Dynamics, where they were responsible for creating a deep-learning object detection pipeline using various technologies. Steven also worked as a Senior Data Analyst at Driven Brands, Inc., reporting to the VP of Marketing Intelligence and delivering presentations to the executive team.

Earlier in their career, Steven held the position of Business Intelligence and Datawarehouse Lead at Honeywell, where they were responsible for the entire data management life cycle of a commercial excellence program. Prior to that, they worked as a Consultant and Associate Consultant at Informatica, and as a Systems Engineer at the United States Department of Defense.

Steven Cocke completed their Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia, attending from 2011 to 2016. After a gap, they pursued a Master of Science in Data Science from Southern Methodist University, graduating from 2018 to 2020. Additionally, Steven earned a certification as a PCEP Certified Entry Level Python Programmer from the Python Institute in February 2022.
