Paul West-Sells

Paul West-Sells is a seasoned professional in metallurgical engineering and mining, currently serving as the Director at Surge Copper Corp since January 2025 and as an Adjunct Professor at The University of British Columbia since July 2016. Previously, significant leadership roles included President at Western Copper and Gold from March 2010 to December 2024 and Chair of the Centre for Northern Innovation in Mining at Yukon College from November 2015 to November 2024. Paul also chaired the Yukon Mining Alliance from August 2016 to June 2018 and held various executive positions at Western Copper Corporation and other mining companies. Paul earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Metallurgical Engineering from The University of British Columbia between 1987 and 1996.
