Matt W.

Matt W. has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Matt started their career as a Cyber Security Consultant at Family Compass LLC in May 2017, where they performed on-site or remote security consulting, conducted penetration tests, managed vulnerabilities, and implemented risk management and security best practices. Matt effectively communicated with clients to understand their industry needs and provided precision services to ensure their success in securing their company. Matt also provided detailed penetration reports and mitigation strategies to clients.

In November 2018, Matt W. joined Surge Staffing as the Cyber Security Vice President. In this role, they built the current cybersecurity program tailored to Surge using the NIST Framework. Matt designed and oversaw the implementation of network segmentation and created the Incident Response Playbook. Matt trained the SOC & IR teams in threat hunting, threat intelligence, and mitigation techniques. Their contributions were instrumental in establishing a robust cybersecurity infrastructure at Surge Staffing.

Matt W. attended Indiana University Indianapolis from 2004 to 2009, where they studied Actuarial Science. Currently, they are pursuing a degree in Mathematics at Southern New Hampshire University, with an expected completion date in 2025.
