Maryam Badawy

Co-opted Member Of The Governing Council at Surgical Society of Kenya

Maryam Badawy is a Clinical Fellow in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, starting in January 2024. Badawy has held multiple roles within the Surgical Society of Kenya since April 2019, including Co-opted member of the governing council, Vice Secretary, and Residents Representative. As a General Surgeon at Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital since December 2020, Badawy leads the breast service and trains COSECSA residents. Prior experience includes being a General Surgery Resident at Kenyatta National Hospital, a Medical Officer at The Nairobi Hospital, and a Senior House Officer at Aga Khan University Hospital in East Africa. Badawy holds a Master of Surgery in Principles of Breast Oncoplasty from the University of East Anglia and a Master of Medicine in General Surgery from the University of Nairobi, alongside an MBBS from October 6 University.
