David S. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. David is currently the Director of Engineering at Surgimatix, Inc. and previously held the position of Engineering Manager at the same company. Prior to this, they worked as a Principal at Schaller Product for three years. David also worked at NEMERA and Insight Product Development as a Senior Development Engineer. One of their significant roles was as a Mechanical Engineer at Endotronix, Inc., where they were responsible for verifying and validating mechanical systems for clinical trials. David also played a key role in designing implantable arterial pressure sensors and delivery systems. Before that, they worked at Cardica, Inc. as a Senior Design Engineer and R&D Engineer, where they designed new devices and managed their development from concept through prototyping. In addition, they have experience as an R&D Intern at Quest Aircraft Company, where they implemented test fixtures and protocols for aircraft structures, and as a Manufacturing Intern at the same company, where they wrote manufacturing documentation and designed fixtures.
David S. pursued their education starting in 2006 at the University of California, Davis where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2010. David then continued their academic journey by enrolling at Northwestern University in 2014. Over the course of two years, from 2014 to 2016, they completed their Master's of Science degree in Product Design and Development Management. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in German fluency, specifically at an elementary level, from Duolingo in February 2016.
