Richard Hebden

Richard Hebden began their work experience in 1999 as a Research Scientist at DERA. In 2001, they joined QinetiQ as a Project Manager, focusing on the application of MEMS technologies to space systems. Richard later became an Operations Manager at QinetiQ. In 2006, Hebden joined Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) as a Spacecraft Operations Engineer and eventually became the Team Leader for Spacecraft Operations. In 2019, they were promoted to Chief Systems Engineer, and in 2021, they became the Head of Chief Engineering at SSTL.

Richard Hebden earned a 1st Class BSc (Hons) degree in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Birmingham, where they studied from 1995 to 1998. Subsequently, they pursued an MSc in Astronautics and Space Engineering at Cranfield University, which they completed in 1999.
