Sophie Bywater

Sophie Bywater is an accomplished professional in the aerospace industry, currently serving as Executive Director and Lunar Programme Manager at Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) since November 2014. With significant experience in managing complex satellite programs, Sophie has been responsible for the Galileo programme's success, overseeing all technical and programmatic aspects. Previously, Sophie held various roles at EADS Astrium Services, including Airborne Programme Manager and Naval Project Manager, where responsibilities encompassed customer relations and comprehensive project management for multi-million euro projects. Sophie has a strong educational background, holding degrees from the University of Birmingham and other institutions, complemented by business qualifications from the EADS Corporate Academy and Astrium Business School.
