Michelle D.

Michelle D. has over 15 years of experience in educational and community program leadership. Since March 2016, Michelle has served as a teacher with School District #36 (Surrey) while concurrently working as a program leader for the City of Burnaby since November 2008, where responsibilities include leading various programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Michelle holds a Special Education Certificate from Queen's University and has a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in History from Simon Fraser University. Prior experiences include roles as a contract preschool instructor and outdoor leader, where lesson planning and fostering inclusive environments for children were key focuses. Earlier career experience includes working as a sales associate at Sport Mart.
