Integration Support (inclusion) Teacher at Surrey Schools

Regie Plana-Alcuaz, MS, MA, currently serves as a Member-at-Large on the Executive Committee of the Surrey Teachers' Association since October 2022 and is an Integration Support Teacher for Surrey Schools since September 2020. Regie has been actively involved in various educational committees, including the Canadian Teachers' Federation's Advisory Committee on the Status of Women and the British Columbia Teachers' Federation's Committee for Action on Social Justice. With a strong background in social justice, Regie has held leadership roles in the Nisga'a Teachers Union as Social Justice Chair and Secretary, overseeing professional development. Previous experience includes working as an Academic Advisor for the Embassy of the State of Kuwait and serving as Elementary Department Head at Nisga'a Elementary Secondary School. Regie's educational credentials include a Master of Science in Special Education from Johns Hopkins University and two Master's degrees in English Language and Literature Teaching from Ateneo de Manila University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.
