Krissa Smith

Vice President, Mission Partnerships at Susan G. Komen

Krissa Smith's work experience begins in 2008 as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Georgetown University, where they worked until 2009. From 2010 to 2011, they served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute. In 2011, Krissa joined Susan G. Komen, where they held various roles. Krissa started as a Research Program Manager and then progressed to Senior Manager, Research Programs. From 2018 to 2020, they served as the Director of Research Programs. In 2020, Krissa was promoted to Vice President, Mission Strategy & Operations, responsible for leading breast cancer research portfolios. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President, Mission Partnerships, focusing on implementing strategies, developing engagement programs, and raising awareness for patient priorities at Komen.

Krissa Smith earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Microbiology from Brigham Young University, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. Following this, they pursued their education at Georgetown University from 2003 to 2008 and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Tumor Biology.
