Luz Viviana Meza serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Michigan Department of State since July 2024, while also holding positions as an Advisory Board Member and Senior Policy Advisor at SustainabiliD since January 2023. Previously, Luz worked at The Michigan Hispanic Collaborative as the Director of Operations and Strategic Initiatives from February 2023 to June 2024, and at Wayne County Economic Development from October 2019 to November 2022, where roles included Director of Community & Economic Development Department and Director of Economic Development Division. Additional experience includes the role of District Business Liaison at Detroit Economic Growth Corporation and Research Associate at the Defense Manufacturing Assistance Program. Luz's early career involved teaching bilingual education at Dallas Independent School District and coordinating programs for the Latino community. Luz Viviana Meza holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy and a Master of Applied Economics from the University of Michigan, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Studies from the same institution.
