Willem Bulthuis has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Willem is the Co-Founder of Better Building Initiative and Teamaturity. Willem is also the Founding Partner and CEO of Corporate Ventures Advisory. Additionally, they hold the position of Co-Founder and Board Member at AATec Medical, where they focus on developing a therapeutic platform for AAT-based drugs. Previously, they served as CEO at WBX Ventures, where they advised established companies on Corporate Venture Capital and worked as a Venture Partner and Industry Advisor to venture capital firms and private equity. Willem was also involved in angel investing and co-founding high-tech startups in sectors such as energy, recycling, transport, mobility, construction, and agriculture. Furthermore, Bulthuis worked as a Venture Capital Expert and VP Partnerships at Tech Tour, participating in selection and advisory panels for various VC events. Willem has been a Steering Committee Member for the European Patent Office's High-growth Technology Business Community and an Ambassador for the Innovation World Cup Series. Willem has also served as an Alliance Partner at Green Swan Partners LLC, a venture builder focused on generating wealth and positive environmental impact. In addition, they co-founded sustainabill GmbH, a company that provides executives with up-to-date information on environmental and social performance.

Willem Bulthuis completed their education in a chronological manner. Willem attended the Gymnasium Celeanum in Zwolle from 1975 to 1981, where they did not graduate with a degree or pursue a specific field of study. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Twente in 1981 and studied computer science for a year before deciding to change their major. From 1982 to 1987, they studied at the University of Twente once again and successfully earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Educational Science & Technology.
