Philip Richards

Philip Richards has a diverse work experience in the energy and sustainability industry. Philip currently holds the position of Head of ESG at Sustainable Energy First since February 2023. Prior to this role, they were the ESG and Net Zero Lead at the same company from July 2022 to February 2023. From November 2020 to July 2022, they served as a Senior Strategic Account Manager at Sustainable Energy First. Before joining Sustainable Energy First, Philip worked as a Client Director at Carbonxgen Limited from June 2018 to November 2020. Philip also worked as a Strategic Account Manager at Inenco Group from January 2014 to June 2018. Earlier in their career, they held the position of Energy and Carbon Team Manager at Balfour Beatty plc from July 2011 to December 2013. Philip also worked as an Energy and Carbon Project Manager at Power Efficiency Ltd from September 2007 to June 2011 and as a Sales Executive at Landmark Information Group from November 2004 to August 2007.

Philip Richards completed several short-term courses and certifications related to energy performance and low-carbon consultancy. In 2009, they attended the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers for a course in Low Carbon Consultancy. Later that year, they also studied Energy Performance Certification and Display Energy Certification at STROMA. Additionally, in August 2022, Philip obtained a certification in "Business and Climate Change: Towards Net Zero Emissions" from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL).
