Sustainable Food Center
Deirdre Anderson, CFRE, currently serves as the Chief Development Officer at the Sustainable Food Center, a position held since January 2024. Previously, Deirdre was the Chief Development Officer at the Andy Roddick Foundation from April 2022 to January 2024, and before that, served as Director of Development at the Jeremiah Program from April 2016 to May 2022, where fundraising efforts more than doubled from $750K to $2.2 million in five years. Deirdre’s extensive experience in development includes roles as Development Director at Every Texan, Director of Development at Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, and Director of Development at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas. Deirdre also held the position of Board President for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Austin Chapter, and Development Director at The Arc of Texas. Deirdre holds a B.A. in English from The University of Texas at Austin.

Founded in 1993, with roots dating back to 1975 as Austin Community Gardens, Sustainable Food Center (SFC) is involved in every step of our local, Central Texas, food system. With our new mission to transform the food system to nourish our health, land, and livelihood, SFC is laying the groundwork for our next phase as an organization.
