Mariliis Holm

Mariliis Holm is a prominent figure in the food and sustainability sectors, currently serving as a Founding Member of BIOME Consortia, which focuses on mapping Earth's microbiome to combat biodiversity loss. As Co-Founder and Partner at Sustainable Food Ventures, Mariliis supports early-stage food companies that are plant-based, cell-based, and recombinant. Mariliis is also the Founder of the North Carolina Future of Food Coalition, driving the future food ecosystem in the region. Additional entrepreneurial ventures include BY MARILIIS, which offers experiential scents inspired by Estonia, and leadership roles at Loki Foods and Pearlita Foods. Prior experience includes Head of Food Science at Finless Foods, focused on sustainable cell-based seafood, and Co-Founder of Nonfood, which creates sustainable algae-based foods. Mariliis's educational background includes master's degrees in Food Innovation and Product Design and participation in a leadership program in Sustainability Studies.
