Edward Shao

Edward Shao is an experienced professional specializing in environmental restoration and engineering. As the Founder and Project Manager of ProjectQRRestore since June 2021, Edward has led initiatives to unite environmentalists in Mexico for blue carbon restoration and has fostered relationships with donor organizations. Concurrently, Edward serves as a Young Ocean Leader at Sustainable Ocean Alliance, focusing on clean-up projects and coral/mangrove restoration in Quintana Roo. In a parallel role as Chief Executive Officer of ProjectQRSargasso, Edward advocates for a circular economy around Caribbean sargassum. Prior experiences include positions at NYSDEC as an Environmental Engineer I and the Federal Aviation Administration as an Environmental Engineer, along with various roles in educational outreach and technology. Edward holds a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Resources Engineering from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
