Environmental Expert at Sustinere

Imre Banyasz is an Environmental Expert at Sustinere since October 2023, focusing on sustainability and climate risk assessment, as well as climate and environmental footprint analysis. Currently serving as an Alternate Member of the Article 6.4 Supervisory Body at UN Climate Change since July 2022, Imre Banyasz has a robust background in international carbon markets, previously working as an Adviser at the Ministry of Climate of Estonia from April 2018 to September 2023. Imre also held roles as Senior Officer in EU climate action policy and Acting Head of Climate Department at the Environmental Board of Estonia, contributing to greenhouse gas emission reduction and regulatory practices. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Geography and Geoinformatics from the University of Copenhagen and a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Tartu.
