Lester Cacao

Lester Cacao has extensive work experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) roles. Lester currently works as the Director of Environment, Health, and Safety at Sutro Biopharma, Inc. since March 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Director of EHS at the same company from May 2020 to March 2022. Lester also worked as an EHS Manager at Proteus Digital Health, Inc. from September 2018 to January 2020. Previously, they held positions as a Senior Manager for Environmental, Health, Safety & Security at Zymergen, Inc. from February 2016 to March 2018, and as an EHS Manager at Genia Technologies (Roche Sequencing) from November 2014 to February 2016. Lester gained further experience as a Senior EHS Professional at Roche Molecular Systems from March 2010 to November 2014, as an EHS Principal Professional at Bayer Pharmaceuticals from June 2007 to August 2009, and as an EHS & Security Manager at VaxGen from June 2002 to December 2005.

Lester Cacao has a Master of Science degree in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco. Prior to that, they attended Milpitas High School. Lester also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in physiopsychology from UC Davis, where their field of study was optometry.
