Heidi Heikkinen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sustainability and project management across diverse sectors. Currently serving as the Senior Sustainability Manager at Suunto since November 2021, Heidi leads initiatives in producing high-end GPS sport watches, dive computers, and compasses. Previous roles include Projects Officer at the World Fair Trade Organization, Verification Director at The Etho, and Country Programme Manager for India at World Vision Finland. Heidi has also founded and served as CEO of Karmashop, contributed as a Junior Expert at FCG Finnish Consulting Group Oy, and worked with the United Nations Development Programme in marketing and product design for micro-entrepreneurs in Nepal. Education includes a Master’s degree in Environmental Sociology from the University of Lapland and a Master’s in Multiculturalism from the University of Oulu.

Suunto was founded in 1936 by Tuomas Vohlonen, a Finnish orienteer and inventor of the liquid-filled field compass.
