Tomas Ekbom

Tomas Ekbom is a seasoned professional in the bioenergy sector, currently serving as Program Director for the BioDriv network at Svebio, the Swedish Bioenergy Association, since January 2015. In this role, Ekbom oversees initiatives aimed at reducing climate impact through the transition to biofuels in the transportation sector. Additionally, Tomas operates as Editor in Chief for IEA BioenergyT39 Biofuels News, managing an international publication distributed to over 1700 readers worldwide. As a Task Leader for IEA Bioenergy TCP Task 39, Tomas represents Sweden on a national level. Tomas's prior experience includes serving as a Senior Consultant at Grontmij Sweden, Technical Director at Nykomb Synergetics AB, and a Process Engineer at Kvaerner Chemrec AB, with extensive expertise in gasification technology and process engineering for energy applications. Tomas holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and has completed a visiting scholar program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
