Monica Bjerking is an experienced strategic designer and textile representative with a career spanning over three decades in various roles within design, purchasing, and sales. Currently serving as a strategic designer at Design & Interior by M since January 2017 and as a textile representative at Svenskt Tenn since October 2018, Monica has previously held significant positions including design manager at SFGroup and concept manager at Swedish Fitness, where responsibilities encompassed brand strategy, trend analysis, and personnel management. Additional experience includes roles in purchasing and finance at Polarn O. Pyret and Flygresebyrån AB, as well as continuous professional development through various educational programs.
Svenskt Tenn
Svenskt Tenn is an interior design company located on Strandvägen in Stockholm, Sweden. It was founded in 1924 by Estrid Ericson, who recruited the Austrian architect and designer Josef Frank to the company 10 years later. A long and successful collaboration began between Josef Frank and Estrid Ericson who together created a style influenced by both Viennese elegance and Swedish functionalism. With its colorfulness and patterns and inspiration from all kinds of cultures and eras, the style was in sharp contrast to the ideal flourishing in the 1930s. Together, the two lay the foundations for the interior design philosophy that Svenskt Tenn has since come to represent. Svenskt Tenn is owned by the Kjell and Märta Beijer Foundation. Profits generated by the company are through the foundation used to promote scientific and medical research in Sweden as well as Swedish home decoration traditions.
