Iris Yoon

Iris Yoon is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Swarthmore College since August 2025, previously serving in the same role at Wesleyan University from July 2023 to June 2025. Prior experience includes positions as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford (April 2022 - May 2023) and the University of Delaware (January 2021 - March 2022), as well as research at the University of Pennsylvania between August 2019 and December 2020, focusing on computational neuroscience. Iris Yoon's work includes the design of algorithms for functional brain network comparison and simulation of neuron population activity using machine learning. At Georgia Institute of Technology (August 2018 - August 2019), research emphasized RNA secondary structure prediction. Yoon obtained a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania in 2018 and a BA in Mathematics from Swarthmore College in 2013.
