Katie Price

Katie Price is the Associate Director of the Lang Center at Swarthmore College. Katie previously served as the Director of Academics & Programming at Philadelphia Futures, where they managed after-school academic enrichment classes, clubs, and summer programs for 250+ aspiring college students from low-income, first-generation-to-college backgrounds. Additionally, they managed a tutoring program that connected 10-15 volunteer tutors with 20+ students each academic year.

At Philadelphia Futures, Katie also supervised all members of the Academics team, including instructors; curriculum, assessment, and test-prep specialists; program assistants; and 5-10 summer interns. Katie assisted with supervision of all Pre-College staff. Additionally, Katie lead and planned all major programming, including an annual conference for ~600 attendees, intensive summer programs, and other initiatives designed to prepare students for college. Katie served as liaison for special projects and collaborations with outside organizations and institutions, including Penn, Bridging the Gaps, and the Philadelphia Theatre Company.

Before their work at Philadelphia Futures, Katie was an Instructor at Rutgers University-Camden and an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in the Humanities at the University of Toronto.

Kate Price attended the University of Utah for their Bachelor's degree in English. Katie then pursued their Master's degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania. After completing their Master's, they decided to stay at the University of Pennsylvania to complete their Ph.D. in English. Along with their degrees, Kate Price has also obtained a certification in College and University Teaching from the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Pennsylvania.
