Marcus Smith

Marcus Smith is an experienced GIS professional with a diverse background in geographic information systems and data management. Currently serving as a GIS Administrator at SWCA Environmental Consultants since May 2013, Marcus oversees the deployment of ArcGIS Enterprise and manages SQL geodatabases and various geospatial tools. Previously, as Team Lead for the GIS department, Marcus effectively managed project workloads and collaborated with teams across different locations. Prior experience includes roles as a GIS Specialist at Western Land Services, where data management and analysis were key responsibilities, and as a GIS Technician at Knight Technologies, focusing on natural resource geodatabases and map design. Marcus also contributed to academic cartography at the University of Idaho, updating campus maps, and gained early experience as a GIS Intern with Jackson County GIS and the City of Buffalo. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Geography with a focus on Cartography and GIS from the University of Idaho.
