Dan Portillo is the Managing Partner and Founder of Sweat Equity Ventures.

Previously, Dan was a Talent Partner at Greylock, where his team’s mission was to help dozens of portfolio companies hire key executives and engineers, and build their own recruiting functions. This network based approach led to 17 investments for the Greylock, including Awake Security where Dan placed 3 of the 4 founders. But the biggest remit was supporting President Obama to build the talent function for the United States Digital Service.

Dan created Sweat Equity Ventures in 2019 to address the needs of today's founders. Sweat Equity is strictly an Operations venture firm to help companies with hiring, scaling people ops, product development and go-to-market. They have recruited key executives, facilitated fundraises/acquisitions and submitted patents that take a curated handful of the next gen B2B leaders from 0 to 1.
