Ulysses Velez

Ulysses Velez currently serves as Chief of Police at Sweeny Independent School District since February 2023. Prior to this role, Ulysses held various positions at Brazoria County Sheriff's Office, including Lieutenant from April 2019 to May 2022, and several other roles such as Personnel Sergeant, Criminal Investigator, Mental Health Deputy, Patrol Deputy, and Jailer from July 1998 to April 2019. Ulysses Velez earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Sam Houston State University between January 2018 and May 2022, and holds an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Brazosport College, as well as graduating from Angleton High School in 1992.
