Carlos Conde has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Their most recent role was as Vice President of Engineering at sweetgreen, a position they have held since June 2020. Prior to that, Carlos worked at DNAnexus from February 2016 to June 2020, where they served as the Senior Director of Engineering. During their time at DNAnexus, Carlos focused on enhancing backend scalability and security, reorganizing the engineering team, and implementing enterprise-grade processes.
Before joining DNAnexus, Carlos worked at Amazon Web Services from August 2014 to February 2016. Carlos held the role of Chief Technology Evangelist EMEA, where they played a key role in expanding the reach and visibility of AWS in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Carlos also served as the Senior Manager of Solutions Architecture at AWS from July 2012 to August 2014, where they built and managed a team of Solutions Architects and contributed to the opening of new AWS offices across Europe.
Prior to their time at Amazon, Carlos worked at the European Parliament as a Lead Architect from May 2008 to October 2010. In this role, they designed and launched the AT4LEX project, a next-generation repository for EU laws. Carlos also wrote feasibility studies, promoted the project internally, and charted the initial proof of concepts.
Before their work at the European Parliament, Carlos co-founded IGC - Newaxe in 2005, where they launched an ERP and IT governance software suite. The company was later acquired by its main customer, Eiffage. Carlos also worked at IGC as a Software Engineering Manager from October 2003 to January 2005, leading a team in rewriting a legacy ERP as a web-based platform and introducing agile development methodologies.
Carlos's career began in 1999 when they co-founded Double C, a company that developed and commercialized an automated web interface generator. The company was later acquired by a web consultancy firm.

Carlos Conde attended Pierre and Marie Curie University from 1995 to 2000, where they obtained a Master 2 (M2) degree in Génie Logiciel (Software Engineering). In addition to their academic qualifications, they also obtained several certifications: CISA from ISACA in August 2010, AWS Certified Security - Specialty (SCS) from Amazon Web Services in November 2018, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional (SAP) from Amazon Web Services also in November 2018.
