Sepehr Mousavi has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2001 as a Project Manager for Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO). In 2003, they took on the roles of Project Manager and International Coordinator for SGS. In 2008, they became a Management Consultant for McKinsey & Company. From 2010 to 2013, they were a Research Fellow for SLU - Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. From 2013 to 2018, they held the roles of Chief Sustainability Officer and Research & Innovation Lead for Plantagon Companization. In 2018, they became a Strategic Advisor for the United Nations and in 2019 they became Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer for Swegreen. Additionally, since 2016 they have been an Advisory Board Member for ISO - International Organization for Standardization and since 2014 they have been the Chair of SIS/TK 588 Sustainable Smart Cities / Convener of Swedish delegation in SSCC SF & ISO/TC 268 and Chair of SIS/TK 592 Sustainable Urban Food Production for SIS, Swedish Standards Institute.
Sepehr Mousavi has a diverse educational background. Sepehr obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering from the University of Tehran between 2000 and 2003. In 2006 and 2007, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General from Heriot-Watt University. From 2010 to 2013, they earned a Master of Science (MSc.) in Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture from SLU - Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Sepehr is currently pursuing a Technology Doctor in Energy and Environmental Engineering from Mälardalen University, which they are expected to complete in 2025. Sepehr also holds certifications from the University of Cambridge, ISO - International Organization for Standardization, SIS, Swedish Standards Institute, SGS, and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
