Venkatesh Karanam has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Venkatesh began their career in the hospitality sector, working at The Park from 1995 to 1999 and then at the Dubai Grand Hotel from 1999 to 2002. Venkatesh then transitioned to the financial industry, starting at HDPI in 2002 and later moving to HSBC HDPM in 2007. At HSBC HDPM, they held the position of VP Ops / AVP Ops until 2011.

In 2012, Venkatesh joined HSBC Global Resourcing as the Head of Production Management for the Malaysia and Philippines GSCs. After a year, they moved to HSBC, where they served as the Global Head of Production Management Tools and Solutions from 2013 to 2017. During this time, they also took on the role of Global Program Manager, Robotics Process Automation (RPA) from 2016 to 2017, overseeing the deployment of RPA technology across multiple markets within HSBC.

Venkatesh then joined Swift in 2019, where they held various positions, including Head of Customer Data Collections Operations from 2019 to 2021, Head of Data Collection and Compliance Management from 2021 to 2022, and Global Head of Customer Operations from 2022 to 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Global Head of Support & Service Management.

Venkatesh Karanam holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the Swiss School of Management. Prior to that, they attained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Business Administration and Management from the Paris Graduate School of Management. Venkatesh'seducation also includes a Diploma in Hotel Management, specializing in Food & Beverage Services, from the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition in Kolkata.
