Jan Homolak is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tuebingen, focusing on the interaction between central nervous system drugs and human gut microbiota. With a strong academic background from the School of Medicine University of Zagreb, Jan completed a PhD thesis addressing pathophysiological alterations of the gastrointestinal system in animal models of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases under the guidance of Melita Salkovic-Petrisic MD, PhD. Experience includes research internships and visiting researcher roles at prominent institutions such as Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg. Jan has also been actively involved in student societies, contributing as a co-founder of the Student Society for Exercise Physiology and as an associate editor for Gyrus Journal.
