Dr Emma van Daal

Dr. Emma van Daal is an experienced professional in the field of infant and child mental health, currently serving as a Lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology and as Director of the Centre For Infant Wellbeing as of February 2024. Since 2010, Emma has been the Director of The Melbourne Play Studio, focusing on creative and expressive arts therapies for infants, children, and families. Emma has provided consultancy and clinical supervision since January 2022, specializing in trauma's effects on children and their caregivers. Previous roles include Infant Mental Health Consultant at Berry Street, Chief Investigator at Emerge Support for Women and Children, and Academic Teacher at ACAP. Emma holds multiple advanced degrees and has been actively involved in various professional organizations, enhancing the delivery of high-quality mental health services to vulnerable populations.
