Richard Hsu has held a variety of roles in the technology industry since 2009. Richard began their career as a Residential Computing Consultant at UC Berkeley in 2009, where they also held positions as a Reader for CS 161: Computer Security, Research Apprentice, Student Instructor for EE 20N: Signals and Systems, Student Instructor for CS 61BL: Data Structures and Programming Methodology, Lab Assistant for CS 61BL: Data Structures and Programming Methodology, and Unit Supervisor. In 2013, they worked as a Summer Software Engineering Intern for the Performance Team at LinkedIn. Richard then moved on to Accompany in 2015 as a Software Developer, where they were acquired by Cisco in 2018 and took on the role of Technical Leader II. In 2019, they became Co-Founder and CTO of SwingVision, where they automated shot tracking, video analysis and line calling using just a single smartphone. Richard was featured in the Spring & Fall 2021 Apple Keynotes and 2021 App of the Day, and is the Official Player & Ball Tracking App of Tennis Australia, LTA and ITA. Additionally, they held the position of Media and Technology Chair at Berkeley Poetry Review in 2009.
Richard Hsu began their education in 2004 at Northwood High School. Richard then attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2008 to 2012, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Richard continued their education at Stanford University from 2012 to 2014, earning a Master of Science in Computer Science.
