Richard Bair

Richard Bair currently serves as the VP of Software Engineering at Hashgraph and has held the same position at Hedera Hashgraph since April 2021. Prior to these roles, Richard Bair was a Senior Director of Software Engineering at Oracle, overseeing cloud architecture and software engineering for Internet of Things and Blockchain Applications. Richard's career at Oracle included significant roles such as Internet of Things Cloud Architect and Director of Software Development, contributing to all iterations of Oracle Cloud. Before joining Oracle, Richard was the Chief Architect for Client Java at Sun Microsystems, where responsibility included JavaFX and other client technologies. Richard's early career involved leadership in automotive repair software development and experience in interfacing database systems for newspaper companies. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Springfield.
