Leemon Baird is the Co-Founder and CTO at Swirlds. Leemon was previously the Founder / Chief Scientist at Hedera Hashgraph from January 2018 to May 2022. Prior to that, they were with Swirlds Inc. From January 2011 to June 2011, they were a Visiting Professor at KAUST. From June 2004 to September 2005, they were the Director of Security Engineering at Symbol Technologies (Motorola). From June 2003 to August 2009, they were a Professor of Computer Science at the US Air Force Academy. From April 2012 to September 2015, they were a Consultant. From August 2009 to April 2012, they were a Senior Research Scientist at the Academy Center for Cyberspace Research. From September 2005 to January 2012, they were the Co-founder and CTO at BlueWave Security. From August 2000 to June 2004, they were the Co-founder and CTO at Trio Security.
Leemon Baird has a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the United States Air Force Academy.
