Ruslan Davtian

Ruslan Davtian has a diverse work experience in the field of data analysis and business intelligence. Ruslan started their career as a Summer Intern at DecisionNext, where they built statistical time series models to forecast wholesale pork prices. After that, they worked as a Data Science Capstone at Valor Water Analytics, Inc, where they performed data analysis and machine learning for classification using water consumption data.

Later, Ruslan joined the San Francisco 49ers as a Business Intelligence Intern, creating distribution maps of season ticket holders and analyzing ticketing postings. Ruslan then moved on to the Milwaukee Brewers as an Intern in Baseball Research and Development, investigating defensive projections for minor league players.

Ruslan further expanded their experience as a Baseball Student Manager at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, creating advanced scouting reports using Synergy baseball software. Ruslan also interned at the Seattle Kraken as a Business Intelligence Analyst, building attendance forecasting models and customer purchasing likelihood models using machine learning pipelines.

Afterwards, Ruslan worked as a Graduate Research Fellow at The World Bank, focusing on improving poverty predictions through deep learning and machine learning. Ruslan then joined the Cincinnati Reds as a Baseball Analytics Trainee, conducting analysis and implementing new metrics for player evaluation and development.

Most recently, Ruslan worked at XPEL as a Business Intelligence Analyst, building Power BI dashboard reporting and creating auto ML time series models in Python. Ruslan also updated SQL Server database tables using Full Convert software.

Currently, Ruslan is working at Swish Analytics as a Sports Data Scientist.

Ruslan Davtian completed their education at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. From 2014 to 2018, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Statistics and Data Science, with a minor in Quantitative Economics. Following this, in 2020, Ruslan enrolled in California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo's Master of Science program (M.S) in Quantitative Economics and successfully completed it in 2021. Prior to their university studies, they attended Northgate High School from 2010 to 2014.
