Rejean Besner

Réjean Besner joined Swiss Re in 2008, first in Zurich before taking responsibility of operations in Luxembourg in 2013.

In Zurich, he was part of the risk management function and led Swiss Re's project to implement Solvency Il for its EEA based legal entities. In Luxembourg, he acted as general manager for the Luxembourg-based Swiss Re companies. In April 2014, Mr Besner joined Swiss Re's Risk Management function as Chief Risk Officer for the Life Capital business unit.

Mr Besner has more than 35 years of experience as an actuary practicing in life and health insurance and reinsurance. During this time, he has also held a number of leadership positions within the industry. He was a member of the Board of the ACA (Luxembourg Insurance Association) and the Chair of the Enterprise and Financial Risk Committee of the International Actuarial Association.
