Urs Leimbacher

Urs Leimbacher is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public affairs, branding, and international cooperation. Since August 2005, Urs has served as a Senior Public Affairs Advisor and Head of Branding & Public Affairs at Swiss Re, overseeing the company's brand management and public affairs strategies. From August 2007 to November 2019, Urs was an elected member of the Swiss Government's Consultative Commission on International Development Cooperation, providing advisory support on international development efforts. Additionally, Urs held the role of Secretary General at the Swiss Advisory Council of the American Swiss Foundation from April 2010 to May 2017. Prior to these positions, Urs contributed to Switzerland Global Enterprise in various executive roles from 1993 to 2005, focusing on information management and communications systems. Urs holds an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen, a post-doctoral fellowship from Harvard University, a Ph.D. in International Relations from the Geneva Graduate Institute, and a law degree from the University of Zurich.
