Matthias Gruenewald has extensive work experience in the aviation industry. Matthias began their career in 2010 as a Capacity Management Executive at Swiss Private Aviation AG. In 2011, they joined Swiss International Air Lines as a Demand and Pricing Analyst and was later promoted to Senior Demand and Pricing Analyst. In these roles, Matthias was responsible for revenue management, pricing strategies, and market demand forecasting.

In 2014, Matthias transitioned to Swiss WorldCargo, the air cargo division of SWISS, where they held various leadership positions. Matthias first served as Manager of Cargo Contribution Steering, then progressed to become the Head of Cargo Contribution Steering, responsible for managing performance, target setting, and P&L forecasting. Later, they became the Head of Cargo Network Development Taskforce & Cargo Charter, and most recently, Matthias assumed the role of Head of Cargo Network Steering. In this role, they lead the processes of demand forecasting, capacity segmentation, and flight steering. Matthias is experienced in managing cargo networks and delivering strategic insights to top management.

Matthias Gruenewald studied at the Technische Universität Dresden, where they pursued a degree in Transportation Economics. Matthias completed their education in 2011 with a Diplom Verkehrswirtschaftler degree from the university.
