Philippe Schneuwly is the CEO and Executive Director at Swisscontact, a position they have held since January 2008. Prior to this, they were a Project Manager at Ernst Basler + Partner from May 2004 to December 2005. In this role, they were in charge of economic projects within the company’s business field “Renewable Resources + Climate Change”. Projects included the design of an energy concept for Goms (a region in the Swiss Alps), including measures to improve energy efficiency and boost the use of renewable sources of energy.

From 2006 to 2007, Philippe worked as an international consultant in SME development. In this role, they developed project proposals for the sustainable development of SMEs in various Latin American countries, presented to several donor agencies. Philippe also coordinated, supervised and evaluated existing SME development projects in various Latin American countries. Additionally, they coordinated research projects that were carried out in cooperation with recognized international institutions and presented projects and research results to multilateral institutions, donor agencies and international development and cooperation agencies at international events.

Philippe Schneuwly has a PhD in Economics from the University of St.Gallen and a Master in Economics from the University of Zurich. Philippe also has a PhD from LG Rämibühl.
